Search Engine Optimization (SEO) aims at increasing the volume and improving the quality of traffic to a website from search engine results. Search engines work on different algorithms to analyze the contents and keywords, and present the search results. Google, for instance, assigns page ranks to the sites and sites that rank highly will appear early in the results. 2. If your Blog has been linked to by Blog Directories, websites or Blogs, you may see these other sites that mention your Blog appearing first in the search results. More likely than not, they have a higher page rank. Scroll through the remaining search result pages and you will probably find a listing that is solely about your Blog.

3. When submitting your site, you do not need to submit the URL of each individual webpage. Submit only the top-level webpage and for Blogger Blogs, it will be an address like this http://blogname.blogspot.com without the www. before the blogname.

4. You can submit your sitemap to Google and login to Google Webmaster site to know the status of the indexing and view traffic statistics. Also, submit your sitemap to Yahoo! to find out more about the index and links to your site. Submit Blogger Sitemap to MSN and Ask.com too.

5. If you add your URL in Yahoo!, it will appear in their other search sites like AlltheWeb and AltaVista as well. Similarly, AOL Search uses the data by Google.

6. Some of the sites send advertisements and newsletters to you in exchange for free submission. If you don't want that, remember to opt out of it. Avoid having your regular email account filled with these mail by creating another free web-based email account just for website submissions.

7. Since search engines have different standards of content, design and technical specifications, submission of your site does not guarantee that it will be included in their database.

We all know how important the traffic is for our sites or blogs. We would do anything we could, just to improve it. Most people are saying that content is the king, which is true. But what about if you don't generate any kind of traffic, so it can be seen? Isn't that great content of yours becoming useless? Who would read it, except of you? On the other hand, if your website/blog is trafficked well, then whatever you're writing or you're offering on it, becomes a source of information for the visitors, who will return the following days, weeks or even months, to check for updates.

It's not hard to start receiving visitors to a site or blog, but it isn't easy either. Why I'm saying that? Because if you already have a high advertising budget, then you're able to promote it better, this way managing to attract a larger number of people to see it. But if you're just starting on the internet and you can't afford spending big amounts of cash on advertising, then it may a bit hard for you to drive the traffic you need to your site/blog.

Before doing anything that you may regret in the future, think twice and do some researches. If you're lucky, you may find those much needed information for free, on article directories or ezines, for example.

3. Don't believe promises that are too good to be true. Why? It's somehow obvious: most of the time, are just that: too good to be true. Avoid the individuals or companies who are telling you that they are the best and they can help you. Anyone is free to say that, but not anyone is actually the way they claim they are.

4. If something works poorly, then it's time to say goodbye and move to better things. Once you saw that one of your techniques, strategies or methods aren't working anymore and your traffic is decreasing or stagnates, get rid of it right away. Then try to apply the other techniques which worked and are still working.

5. Learn to do things by yourself and fast. 6. Make the most out of your advertising budget. If you want your website to be popular and successful, then you have to spend your promotion money wisely.

7. The look and feel of your website/blog. This 2 factors are determining, when it comes to driving traffic to it. A professionally designed, easy to navigate and uncluttered site is more likely to attract lots of visitors, than one which is hard to navigate or it has too much content and advertising mixed together..

8. Ask someone to review your site or blog. Tell then to give you their honest opinions on how are they seeing it. Be prepared to receive some negative comments too, if the site isn't looking or responding too good. This kind of comments can prove to be very helpful and will help you to change what has to be changed.

9. Check those persons or companies which are offering you their services. Do not fall for their "too good to be true" offers, as they don't care about you, your site or your traffic. Driving traffic to a site or blog is done through various methods, such as search engine submission, search engine marketing, banner advertising, pay per click advertising, directories submission etc.It's up to the webmaster ( or blogger ) to select the right ways which he/she thinks will work for him/her. Introduction.

2) Basic, Easy SEO Linking Methods That Are Supposedly Dead

There's a lot of people out there who say that reciprocal linking and even linking in general is "dead".

They're lying, or they're 'parroting' something (inaccurate) that they've heard.

Reciprocal links aren't as effective as one-way links for search engine marketing, but they DO have an impact on your traffic - especially in search engines like MSN and Yahoo. And because it's so easy to do (or outsource), I continue to do it, and it continues to work.

But what I do is a mix of everything when it comes to linking. I build no less than one new site a month with about 15 - 20 pages whose sole purpose is to promote ONE affiliate program that converts really well.

The site is straight HTML with nothing fancy. Most are ugly as hell. They aren't blogs, because I don't really like blogs that much. It's a personal issue, I guess...

Then I hire out the following:

- 100 reciprocal links from relevant, quality sites

- 30 one-way links from good, quality sites (relevancy doesn't really matter for one-ways, actually)

- About 4 or 5 article submissions to all the major article sites, using pen names

- Some "Bum Marketing" on Squidoo.com and Zimbio.com

- Some forum posting and Yahoo Answers (helps with traffic, even if the links are tagged as "rel=nofollow")

- Some covert linking strategies (not sharing here, sorry, it would just be abused if too many people did it - more details below).

To be fair, you could do all of this yourself for free, but it makes more sense to hire it out and it isn't actually that expensive, especially in comparison to the results...

In an IN-DEMAND market, doing this for a site that has about 20 pages will result in about anywhere from 120 to 500 visitors a day.

This can realistically be achieved in about 2 months, maybe less if you're a real go-getter (we're talking free, organic traffic).

Thats targeted, buying visitors.

Most of my visitors start out initially trickling in from the BUM Marketing and forum posting.

In about a month, the first search engine (either MSN or Google) will kick in and start sending traffic. The others follow a few months out, but it never fails.

EACH site I roll out like this - if they're in the right market promoting the right thing the right way - will earn at least $50 to $100 a day or more.

This is because the conversions are strong for what I promote.

Side Note: I use my first step (Viral Marketing) to find high-converting offers first, and then I step it up with a few mini-sites.

3) Build Useful Resources Worth Linking To and "Talking" About

In continuation, if those mini-sites really pull AND if the market holds my interest and I can stand writing about it, then I proceed to roll out the "mother site".

This is the big-ass free site that does something really cool or helpful (or free that's usually charged for); it will eventually become a staple "Authority site" in the niche, and most of your traffic will be controlled by it.

This is the part you where you need to plan your growth, start outsourcing content creation and so on.

(Income-wise, the Mother site will basically be earning whatever your mini-sites do for quite a while until the search engines start seeing it as an actual authority and the long-tail traffic roars in from a multitude of high-ranking content)

And it ties in directly to the next strategy...

4) Build a Better Product (Or An Accessory Product) and Attract Affiliates

If you've done all the prior steps, you're now a major force in your market.

It's time to step it up even further and make some serious cash by rolling out your own product, or series of related products that all cross-promote each other in some way.

You will be controlling a lot of traffic now so this will let you test - in real time - the effectiveness of your OWN offer versus your proven affiliate converters.

Use theirs as the "control" (figuratively) and make your own copy out-perform it.

It goes without saying that prior to doing this, your product should be better than what you're currently promoting as an affiliate, or at least have a different angle.

Side Note: If you can't build a better product, create an accessory product that "ties in" well with the existing best-sellers in the niche and try to get the product-owners to promote it as affiliates.

With a better product, higher conversions and the same (or perhaps better) commission to affiliates, you should be able to attract affiliates no problem over time.

This is a whole topic in and of itself, but AFFILIATE PROGRAMS are a major, major source of traffic.

And almost nobody talks about it, strangely.

5) Do It All Over Again

Whether you do this in the same general niche or in a different one, just repeat these steps over and over again until you reach your ideal income target.

Yes - in a general "bird's eye" sense - it's really that easy.

If the size and demand of the niche supports it, it would be easiest to just keep on dominating the niche you're already in by:

- Creating more mini-sites

- Adding to the Mother site

- Rolling out new products that promote other products/memberships on the backend as well as other people's products as an affiliate

- Getting more links

- Building and profiting from opt-in lists

- And whatever else works for you

6 Steps To Picking Profitable Adsense Keywords

Knowing how to find the best keywords for use in your Adsense Ads is not a straightforward process. Finding and implementing high profit, low competition keywords in your ads really is the trick for making Adsense payoff big.

The following process should yield profitable, low competition keywords for your Adsense ads. This process is not perfect, but when you analyze it and try it for yourself, you can see that it makes sense. Adsense that is.

Step 1 Research some keywords for your niche that have a high CPC value. To do this, first find your keywords using the Google Adwords keyword tool or another tool that will give you niche specific lists of keywords. Save those keywords into a spreadsheet program as a csv file. Copy and paste those keywords into Google's Traffic Estimator (you will need an Adwords account). The traffic estimator will give you the estimated clicks per day and the average cost per click (CPC) for each keyword. Copy and paste this information back into your spreadsheet file for later reference.

Step 2 Multiply the average CPC by 30% to get an estimate of your maximum earnings per click. The higher the average CPC, the more likely the CPC for the 2nd - 8th positions are high as well. You want this higher average CPC to start because if the CPC starts to drop off significantly after the 3rd position, your chance of getting high click earnings as an Adsense publisher will be diminished.

Step 3 Use any one of many tools available on the internet for helping to estimate the 1st - 8th position CPC values. These tools will estimate the CPCs for each position and allow you to see how much the CPCs drop off after the first position. This dramatically helps your analysis for picking the most profitable keywords. If the CPC values stay close to the each other and to the value of the first position, then you will more than likely have a profitable keyword.

Step 4 Now determine which Adsense ads occupy which positions. You can do this by searching on Google for your keyword and looking to see which Adsense ads are generated in the search results and in which order they are. Another way to estimate this is to use the Adwords Accelerator tool. It has a feature whereby Adwords ads are dynamically displayed for a given keyword you input into the tool to check. If the Adwords advertiser has used "Adwords for Content" in his advertising, these ads will be the Adsense ads someone else is displaying on their website.

Step 5 Compare the ads you found in step 4 to the results of using a keyword check function tool (available on the internet). If the advertisers you find by doing this closely match those you found in step 4, you will more than likely have a profitable keyword.

If the advertisers are not he same, then the advertiser is possibly not using the "Adwords for Content" mode of advertising in his campaigns. This means that the keyword may not be the basis for the Adsense ads and may not be profitable.

Step 6 Now you must get the traffic. If you decide to get traffic using the Adwords approach, then just use the keywords in your Adsense ads that scored well from the above evaluation. Then, use lower cost per click keywords in your Adwords ads. The difference between the earnings from the click you get on your Adsense word from the cost of the click you pay on your Adwords word will be your profit.
